ROOFING

Certainteed 5 Star Contractor icon

Between the beating sun, tropical storms, hurricanes, freezing temperatures, and Noreasters, the Outer Banks has one of the harshest weather environments in the United States. Wind-driven rains and blowing sands take a toll on the exteriors of the homes.

There are several reasons why you may consider a roof replacement or repair:

  • Storm damage. Storms can damage roofing in several ways. High winds sometimes damage the roof shingles or tree branches or entire trees can fall on the roof.
  • Increase home value. Replacing your roof can increase curb appeal and real estate value.
  • Old and worn roof. Roof shingles have a limited lifespan. Unfortunately, factors like storm damage, low slope, and mold or moss growth can significantly shorten a roof's life.
  • Leaky Roof. When your roof is leaking, no matter what the cause, you need an experienced, certified, qualified, and dependable roofing contractor to resolve your roofing problems promptly. We will repair or replace your roof using an approach to fit your budget. We have various methods from standard, a premium to premier solutions.

FORTIFIED ROOF PROGRAM

Replacing a roof is a necessary investment and a big one. The Fortified Roof Program was relaunched this year. If you own a home in the Outer Banks and plan on replacing your home's roof, you may be eligible to receive up to $6,000 from your homeowner's insurance company!

Eligible policyholders can apply for a grant up to $6,000 to go toward the installation of a FORTIFIED Roof. A limited number of grants are available and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

NCIUA announced a separate program in coastal areas of North Carolina in 2022. This program, Strengthen Your Coastal Roof, is accepting applications during the third quarter. Announcements are sent to eligible policyholders prior to the program launch.

What is a Fortified Roof?

A Fortified Roof is designed to withstand hurricane winds and reduce water's potential for entering the home by 90%. The sealed deck system and the roof-mounted vents prevent water intrusion. The roof decking is re-nailed with ring shank nails to double the roof's strength.
